In Mark 12: 41-44 it tells of a story where a poor widow gave all she had in an offering place. All she had was two small copper coins. Whereas others gave large amounts of money.
Jesus told his disciples " Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth but she, out of her poverty, put in everything - all she had to live on."
Now I am not going to talk about putting offering, and giving all the monies you have to God but instead I am going to ask the question
"Are you giving YOUR ALL to God?"
When I mean your all I mean yourselves, your heart, your mind, strength. Are you giving God your everything? Are you living your lives as a living sacrifice. Holy and acceptable in the eyes of God?
Roman 12:1 "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service".
To me MY ALL is my entire life. The way I walk, the way I move, the way I talk. Every component that makes up my life is my all. Because they all are part of my daily routine. My daily routine is part of my life. So when they speak about giving God your all I think about this question. "I'm I giving God every part of my life?" In that everything I do should glorify God in heaven.
I am not perfect, and I know that we try to be perfect but in Romans 12 we are given the answer on how we should go about giving God our All and ensuring that we glorify God which is in heaven.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God"
We should be continually renewing our mind each and every moment of the day.
Now waking up and saying "God today I renew my mind....give me clean thoughts....help me to resist the devil...etc...." May not just work. Because as we spoke about in my last blog.....we can't resist the devil unless we know the Word of God and can't fight the devil using it.
Yes we can wake up every morning and say it. But what are you going to do when the devil comes and says to you "lie.......or kill...or even battle you with some sort of adultery ?" are you just going to say God renew my mind? or are you going to use the word of God to renew your mind?
Use the Word of God to renew your mind. The more good thoughts, verses , scriptures you put in your mind the less space there is for the devil to throw his little pebble in.
Let's think of it like this..
We want to plant some fruits so we are removing the weeds and digging holes. We dig and remove weeds in the morning but the next day there is more and more. We keep digging holes and removing weeds but we keep forgetting to plant the seeds/ or even spray the land. Only after planting the seed will the holes stop being filled up again and only after spraying the land will the weeds be gone.
This is our mind and our life with the word of God.
We say God renew our minds....but we don't put in the word of God in our Minds and Hearts. So when the devil comes he is just seeing a space where he could fit in......
So give YOUR ALL TO GOD!
1. Renew your mind daily.
2. Read the word of God daily
3. Talk to God Daily.
4. Ensure God is in every aspect for your life.
5. Make Him Your Friend.
6. Make Him YOUR EVERYTHING!.
