There is a song that says "I love you more than life."
And it is only today that I realized what this song is really saying. It is saying that I, you, Love Jesus More Than Life. As I reflect on this song I however have not been doing so, so while singing I said
"I want to love you Jesus more than Life but the flesh is weak."
In Matthew 26:41 Jesus says "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."
Jesus knows that the flesh is weak, this is why He gives a warning that it is so we, as well, know that it is.
Although the flesh is weak the spirit is willing. The spirit wants to do good but the flesh is weak and gives in. But thank God for Jesus that we can overcome all the powers of the dark world and the fleshy desires to serve Him in holiness.
What is life? Life is everything in this world. What we are doing is part of our life right now. Our friends, families, the things of this world is part of our lives. Whatever you love/life/ dislike/ do/ talk etc. is part of your life. These little elements make up your life. Now the song says.
" Oh Jesus I love you more than life."
And my question is just as the Lord asked me "Do you love Jesus more than life?" and that's when I was just broken because I still hold on to the things in this world (in my life) I can't love Jesus more than life when I still hold love things of this world which is part of my life.
"Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them." 1st John 2:15
And it flowed out of my life the line " I want to love you Jesus more than life but the flesh is weak but I know you are stronger and will help me through."
We are weak....but God is stronger than us and He will help us in everything that we do that is in accordance to His will.
Today I pray that God enters our hearts and make it strong. I pray that He helps us to overcome the things of this world by using His word. I pray that he reveals to us the things that we need to change in order to love Him 100% and love Him totally. Oh Lord you are the air that we breath. For every air that you breath out we breath in. You give us our daily breath everyone I take I want to take it with you. Oh Lord, for I am a sinner. I have sinned. Lord help me Oh Lord to obey your ways. Lord cleanse me from my sins and help me to walk in your way. Love help me to love you more than life not loving the things of this world Oh Father but only you Oh Lord. For the things of this world will slip away but you Oh God will never slip away. In Jesus name I pray Amen and Amen.....
