Prayer has Power and we as Christians need to understand that. God listens to our every cry. Sometimes He won't answer us right away but He will answer us. We just need to listen to what God is saying and obey.
When I used to pray...I used to think that God isn't hearing me and He isn't answering my calls and I always say "God why are you not answering me. God give me the answer.....God.....are you there?"
Now if you notice all I said so far was that I was saying. I didn't give God time to answer my call. I didn't give Him time to speak to me. As Christians we tend to do this a lot, especially me, I would talk on and on about what I need to fix and God why are you not helping me. But in fact every time I prayed I never gave Him time to answer my prayer.
Most of the times when I pray, I expect to hear a big loud voice answering back at me. When in fact sometimes and maybe sometimes God speaks to you through a song, a poem, worship service, sermon, devotional. God speaks to us in many ways but we have to be open to hear His voice.
How do you know your parents voice? Your friends voice? Spouse? You spend time with them right? Same thing with God. Spend time in His word and you will hear His voice.
When God spoke to Elijah he spoke to Him as a whisper not a loud voice. But a whisper.
Spend time with God and Listen for His Voice.
Today I pray that you listen for the voice of God. In times of trouble just sit alone and listen to God. I pray that you walk with Him in your daily life that you listen and be able to acknowledge when God is talking to you. May he guide you and be with you.
