Ephesians 6:12 "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms"
On a daily basis we may be fighting with persons, it may be your spouse, daughter, father maybe it is someone in your work place; co-worker or boss. Every non and again we fight with someone. We may not be physically fighting i.e. hitting, slapping etc. It may be a verbal fight, arguing, shouting etc. At some point in time we fight and it is difficult to handle when it happens every day. But what we as Christians need to know is that this fight that is happen, this disruption the confusion that is happening is more than just physical it is spiritual. There is ALWAYS A SPIRITUAL BATTLE GOING ON THAT WE CANNOT SEE.

All these things lead to one person - Satan - The devil. We are constantly battling against him. It may look like in the real world that we are just arguing but in the spiritual it is a war. A war that we need to be ready to fight. Not physically fight but spiritually fight.
We are all going into battle. What are you going to put on ?
Armor - to protect your heart and body
Shield - to block the enemy's attack
Helmet - protect your head
Shoes - So you can walk and fight
Belt - So you can hold your weapons in. The knives, guns etc. They would be easy access there right?
Sword - Which is of course your weapon.
Now all these things are things that we can use to fight a physical battle but what about a spiritual battle what are you going to wear?
Are you going to wear to wear these things if you cannot even see the enemy? What are you going to wear?

1 Samuel 17:38- 40 Then Saul dressed David in his own tunic. He put a coat of armor on him and a bronze helmet on his head. 39 David fastened on his sword over the tunic and tried walking around, because he was not used to them.
“I cannot go in these,” he said to Saul, “because I am not used to them.”
David was going into a battle? Now why would David take of his armor? Was it too heavy for him? Would it keep him back from being swift against Goliath?
David knew that the battle he was going into was not a physical battle but it was indeed a spiritual battle. He knew that God would be on his side and all he needed to put on was THE ARMOR OF GOD
When we are going into spiritual warfare, we put on the Armor of God. Every day of our lives we need to put on the armor of God.
Ephesians 6:14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Because our battle is against the spiritual world we need to be SPIRITUALLY EQUIPPED TO FIGHT IT.
