Question: Do you think praying is hard?
Firstly lets look at "What is prayer?"
Simply put "Prayer is communicating with God."
Now let me break it down even more
What is communication? There are many definitions but I'll go with this one "the successful conveying or sharing of ideas and feelings."

So therefore "Prayer is the conveying or sharing of ideas and feelings with God."
Now if you still think praying is hard then let's dig a little deeper on what it is.
Now if you still think praying is hard then let's dig a little deeper on what it is.
Think about this:
You are having a birthday party. You need to decide on some things
1. What kind of cake you are going to have.
2. What type of food you are going to have.
3. How many people you are going to invite.
4. What activities you are going to have.
4. What activities you are going to have.
Now I don't think you are going to decide all this on your own right? You will of course go to others weather it be your friends or family to tell them your ideas right?
After you got all the answers from everyone you all planned it. The party came and gone and you now feel really good about it. How successful it was right? So now your telling them how happy you are that it went good and how you were nervous at first or even excited or however you feel.
Now that doesn't see hard right? Easy as Squeezy!

What if I told you prayer is just like that.
Lets look back at the new definition
"Prayer is the conveying or sharing of ideas and feelings with God."
You shared ideas on what to do to your friends and you shared how you felt/ feelings.
So why not share these things with God?

It isn't hard to talk to God. The book of Psalms is basically David and the authors cry out to God.
They talked to God about there problems. They thanked God. They asked for help. They told God how they felt.
Your prayer doesn't have to be long like what you see on television or what you hear in services.
Your prayer can simply be
"Lord Help Me." "Lord protect me" or even "Lord Thank You"
It's something that's heartfelt. It come from your heart. If your hurting tell God. If someone made you angry tell God. Cry out to Him.
Don't ever think that God is too busy listening to others persons pray that your little 3word prayer isn't important. It matters to God.
The more you pray and talk to God you would realize that the more you feel at peace the more you feel calm.
Pray from your heart and soul.
One thing I've learnt is that we can ask God to teach us how to pray.
In Matthew 6:9-13 Jesus showed us how to pray.
9 “This, then, is how you should pray:
but deliver us from the evil one.[b]’
If you are reading this and still needs a little push again on how to pray
Take into consideration the "ACTS of Prayer"
A- Adoration - Simply praise God. Tell Him who He is in your life.
C- Confession - Confess your sins before God and ask for forgiveness
T- Thanksgiving - Thank God for the little things he has given to you.
S- Supplication - Pray for yourself [ things you want God to do in your life]
Pray for others [ Your parents, siblings, co-workers, children etc.]
Pray isn't hard and it doesn't have to be long at first but what it does have to be is from the heart. It between you and God. It's a conversation between you and God. Don't forget like any conversation listen to God.
