Is your heart reflecting GOD?

Matthew 15:18 " But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man."
Proverbs 4:23 "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it."
For the past week these two verses have been helping me shape my mind, my thoughts and my life.

In Matthew 15:18 Jesus is saying that the things that come out of the mouth is what defiles a man but more importantly what comes out the mouth is what is in the heart.

Now as Christians what is supposed to be in  our hearts?

According to Ephesians 3:17, Christ is supposed to be in our hearts.
"
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,"
If Christ therefore is in our hearts, then the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control) should also be.

The question is: Is  CHRIST really in your heart? If so then why does such, coarse words come out the mouth?

Are the words that we speak reflecting Christ?

It's similar to a parent and a child relationship:
If the parent is teaching the child the correct ways, but the child disobeys and does the wrong things. How would the parent feel? Knowing that they gave the child rules to follow but yet they disobey. Would the child be reflecting the parent?
When you see this child....would you think that they belong to parent who constantly disciplines their child, and more importantly gives them rules to follow or a would you instantly think that they belong to a parent who doesn't have any rules???

Well aren't we God's Children??

When we say  these things are we reflecting Him??
When people hear the things we say are they going to say "That is a Child of God?"
Are we going to be reflecting Our Heavenly Father??

So before something comes out your mouth,
Pause....
And ask yourself "Is what I am going to say reflecting Jesus? Who abides in my heart?"
If it is....Go ahead ^_^ But if not....
Throw it away!
